Corfitzen´s work consists of exploring motifs and perfecting techniques based on his own ideas and aesthetic inclinations on canvas and paper. His work is further characterized by a genuine, impassioned interest in people. Fascinated with people and their multifaceted existences. This is the forefront of his art. The motifs result from something cultivated and artificial.
His work is equally figurative representation and abstraction. Tradition and renewal. The style is very distinct and easy to recognize. Dreamlike.
Corfitzen´s work showcases an interest in the human physique and psyche. His paintings call on the senses and are a result of the artist’s pursuit of the possibilities of brush, colours and technique.
Corfitzens´ practice leans on the artistic tradition of showing the beauty, fragility and perishability of life.
Niels Corfitzen was born on January 1st 1980 in Gladsaxe, Denmark and is an autodidact artist. His paintings are a result of artistic courage, but also an example of a mature gaze and brushstroke.
