BOY GEORGE
According to Boy George, creating art is almost a compulsive need. The colorful and sensational mixed media artworks are made from a strong immanent creative impulse. They stand out as an inner force of movement and artistic now manifested and produced as defined physical units in the gallery space. George never decides in advance what is going to be painted and sewn – portrayed - and which colors and materials he will use.
The work is created in an intuitive process and thus never to be looked at as a reproduction and exact replica of a registered object or person. Despite the intuitive process a common denominator for all the exhibited works in the exhibition is the twist or the intentionally flamboyant and over the top energy. Boy George´s trademark as a contemporary successful artist.
